George Cunningham
George Cunningham President gccunningham@pelligroup.comMr. Cunningham has been providing records management consulting services to clients for over 30 years. After earning his Business Administration degree in the early 1970s, he worked with Information and Business Systems where he was part of the team that developed the records management program for the Trans-Alaska Pipeline, and Informaco, a records management consulting firm, where he worked his way from Consultant to Senior Consultant to Project Manager to Principal. In 1983 Mr. Cunningham formed two companies, Information and Office Systems and Active Records Controls, developer of some of the first commercially successful records management software. In the late 1980s and early 1990s he worked with the Management Consulting Services Group at Price Waterhouse where he built and managed the firm's national records management consulting practice. In 1993 Mr. Cunningham formed George Cunningham & Associates, a consultancy that delivered unbiased information and records management services to clients in a broad range of industries. In 1999, he started collaborating with John Montaña to create and deliver a more inclusive and responsive type of records retention schedule. Their relationship was formalized in 2002 when they merged their consulting practices to form Cunningham & Montaña, and it continues today as PelliGroup. Mr. Cunningham's work has involved the design and installation of records management systems for clients in the U.S. and abroad. In addition to his strategic records management systems design and consulting work, Mr. Cunningham serves as an expert witness on information management, document management and records management topics and is an advisor to venture capitalists and private equity placement groups about records management industry trends and investment opportunities. Mr. Cunningham has served on the boards of directors of technology and service organizations and has addressed audiences in the United States and abroad on records management and related topics. Mr. Cunningham is a member of ARMA, AIIM, and an associate member of both the American and Washington DC Bar Associations. Among his recent publications are the records management chapter in Nonprofit Governance and Management, a joint publication of the American Society of Corporate Secretaries and the American Bar Association's Business Management Section and Lawyer's Guide to Records Management and Retention, published by the Law Practice Management section of the American Bar Association. Mr. Cunningham's efforts are focused on managing client relationships, hands-on project management and finding new ways to extend the value and worth of records management to PelliGroup's clients. |
